Southeast Regional Evergreen Conference

August 20th, 2014 by

The State Libraries of Virginia and North Carolina are hosting a regional Evergreen conference in October.  The Southeast Regional Evergreen Conference (SEREC) will take place October 8-9 at The Holiday Inn North Raleigh Hotel and Conference Center, 2804 Highlands Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27604.

Several Equinox employees will be presenting sessions at SEREC, including Shae Tetterton and Erica Rohlfs. The conference is still looking for presenters to round out the program.  This conference is designed for front line library staff and they are looking for presentations on the following Evergreen topics:

  • Buckets

  • Vandelay (Importing/Exporting)

  • MARC Editor

  • Fees and Payments

  • Holds

  • OPAC Searching

  • Beginning and Advanced topics

There will also be round table discussions with facilitators in the following categories:

  • Acquisitions

  • Serials

  • Circulation

  • Cataloging

  • Reports

As an open source community, it is important for us to share our personal experiences using Evergreen in our libraries.  If you are interesting in presenting at SEREC, please visit the Proposals page.  If you are interested in attending as a guest, the fee is $25 and you may register here.  There is a block of rooms at The Holiday Inn North Raleigh Hotel and Conference Center.  Reserve by phone with hotel front desk: (919) 872–3500 or toll free (888) 465-4329. Mention SEREC or Southeast Regional Evergreen Conference to get the reduced rate.

Equinox is looking forward to participating in this conference and we hope you’ll join us, either as a presenter or a guest.  See you in Raleigh!

At Equinox, unlike other administrative roles I’ve had, I get to work directly with libraries to help them solve their problems.
